GreenPrints shares the absolute best true stories of gardeners from all across the country. It’s the most inspiring, humorous, and heartfelt gardening magazine of them all. There is nothing else like it. We’re no spring seedling, either—we’ve been publishing for more than 33 years. If you love to garden, you will love THE magazine of personal garden writing: GreenPrints, “Gardening Stories from the Heart.”

Call for submissions! Calling all experienced gardening writers—we seek gardening stories that are true and personal, expressive and thoughtful, and humorous and witty. We focus on the human, not the how-to, side of gardening, so your story should be entertaining, moving, unexpected, touching, and funny—a heartfelt story you would tell a friend or family member. And we want stories that “show, don’t tell.” Dialogue is a great way to demonstrate the feelings and situations. We don’t do sappy or preachy stories, so please avoid those types. Finally, your story should have a strong ending—a creative and forceful conclusion that ends your story with a wham and a wow!

Your story should be between 600-1,500 words. As a token of our gratitude, if we select your story for publication, you will receive an all-access one-year membership to the GreenPrints Garden Club—an exclusive opportunity valued at $59. In exchange, we request unlimited online rights to your story to avoid any duplication issues with search engines. Rest assured, you retain the freedom to contribute the same or a similar article to any print publication, asGreenPrintsis now exclusively available online. Repeat authors with exceptional stories, may receive an honorarium of up to $100 for each accepted story, paid on publication.
